A New Movement for All of Us

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Mat 28:19-20). The apostles of Christ had the obligation of making more disciples through baptism and teaching. To fulfill this role they needed assurance of divine support. Why did Christ give this command? Christ wanted sustainability for his mission. This is made possible by continuous instructions given to the disciples.

CALISCO draws inspiration from the command of Christ with the Motto: Always Ready to Listen, Empower and Accompany You (those who are in need). How does this work? Through listening we are able to act like a mirror to every person, reflecting back what might be happening in their lives. After which a plan of empowerment is put in place that aims to equip the person with the necessary skills to face their current situation. Empowerment takes time, the reason why accompaniment is part of empowerment. This is meant to assure the persons being accompanied that they are not alone. Thus one forges ahead in navigating through challenges of life because of a support system.

It is time to be part of a community that values transformation through caring listening. There are testimonials from members that are inspiring. These shared experiences are not meant for showoff rather revealing the possibilities that await to be utilized. This is a timely remedy for saving money that would be spent in counseling services. For we all know prevention is better than cure.

On the other hand, the effort of CALISCO enhances relationships because of the presence of the members in the life of the beloved. The economists are still working to give the value of presence. Yet, human presence has turned out to be a great asset in building healthy relationships and  presenting opportunities for partnership. Christ was the first to give value to presence.  “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (Jn 3:26). The presence of the Son of God brought salvation to the whole world through the 12 apostles. Today, CALISCO counts on your presence within your family. Imagine if every family had an opportunity to feel the presence of every member, how will our communities be? Take the challenge of being present today to listen, empower and accompany your family members.
